Repent

Mark 1:1-15

RED SCRIPTURE

Mark 1:15: “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

 

WEEKLY THOUGHTS

1.       At Jesus' baptism, the Father says “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” This affirmation comes BEFORE Jesus does any miracles. What does this tell you about God's love and approval? Imagine God saying this to you. What is your response? Write about it.

2.      Jesus is “driven” (not led) into the wilderness. Have you ever felt driven into a hard season? What did it look like? Spend some time with the Lord and have Him minister to you, as the angels ministered to Jesus in the wilderness.

3.      Looking at Romans 14:17, 1 Corinthians 4:20, and Matthew 6:33, how would you describe the Kingdom of God? Write several words then put together a short poem using some or all of the words.

Act On It

Look at the three paintings below or any others that show the baptism of Jesus. What stands out to you? Compare the three, then create your own picture of how you imagine His baptism.
