October 7: FORGIVE

Lesson 4

Forgive

Mark 2:1-22

RED SCRIPTURE

Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.

WEEKLY THOUGHTS

1.       Take a minute to highlight the “red theme verse” for each week that we've covered so far in your journals. Pick one that resonates with you and memorize it.

2.      The paralyzed man was brought by others. Have you ever been carried spiritually by the faith of friends? Have you ever carried someone else?

3.      New wine in old wineskins — what old structures in your life might be preventing new spiritual growth?

4.      Meditate on the idea of pistis—the ability for people to see your faith in action. Create something that represents how you want your faith to be. (You can use clay, paints, poetry, a song—anything that speaks to you.)

ACT ON IT

Think of someone in your life who is spiritually or emotionally paralyzed right now. Write them an encouraging note this week—be one of those friends who carries them to Jesus.
