What's the Point of a Holiday Card?

I grew up in a family where sending Christmas cards was a big deal, and it became one of the traditions I've carried with me into my own family.  I have found several lovely reasons why we all should send them out, even if you aren't interested in coming up with your own holiday card design each year (notice I did not say "unable to").

1. TRADITION. As I mentioned, I've loved carrying on this tradition of card-sending that my parents did throughout my childhood and beyond. Do you love the holidays and sharing your spirit with others? Start a new tradition if you did not grow up in a card-centric home.
2. DECLARATION. What a beautiful way to share your beliefs during the most magical season of the year--whether you are celebrating the birth of Jesus, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or another visit from good old Santa.
3. CONNECTION. Most of all, I have found holiday cards to be a tool for reaching out to those you've lost touch with, don't see real often, or those who could use something happy in their mailbox (ie. which is everyone).
