What I Must Do Today (and I Invite You to Join Me)

I woke up this morning with this overwhelming feeling of what I must do today.

Choose joy.

But choosing joy isn't so natural when so many around me are struggling with the burdens on them. They are in impossible situations that are out of their control. Not to mention, I'm dealing with my own mountains right now that are too dang big to conquer, much less even attempt to climb.

And that is exactly why choosing joy is so important. Because we may not be able to control the chaos spinning around us or inside us, but we can decide to bring joy along with us.

When we choose joy, we've armed ourselves with a mighty weapon. Yes, joy can be used against negative mind games, spiritual battles, and even--let's get real--the people in your life who seem to delight in making those around them miserable.

When we choose joy, we open the door to love. We welcome love in, and we are also able to usher it out to the world (especially to those we are not capable of loving on our own, see paragraph above).

When I chose joy this morning, I felt a new chapter in me rising up. While there is so much in my life I can not control right now, I am determined to find my joy and bring it along with me wherever I go.

Sort of like my phone and bubbly water bottle.

Let's do this.

Thank you for your reminder this morning dear friend. Choosing joy and making my daily gratitude list certainly help me along the many bumps in the road each day. Love you! Janette
