What Happens to Your Heart When You Send a Card

Let's look at this completely unscientific but nonetheless very real process that happens to both the sender and recipient of a single card.

On the Receiving End:

1. The card recipient feels valued.
2. They feel seen.
3. They feel as if someone gives a *squirrel.
4. They may even feel significant, which IS significant in a world that makes most people feel like extra baggage.
5. And last but not least (in my opinion), you are filling their heart with a lot of Happy.

On the Giving End:

1. When you send a card, you are practicing your own creativity in choosing a card (or making one), writing some words, and even its delivery. Do you want to leave it on their windshield or on their front doorstep, or with some balloons, or even with a clever stamp?
2. You are getting your head out of yourself. Let's admit we think too much about ourselves (whether it's positive or negative).
3. You are making an impact on someone else's life. Do not underestimate the power of a kind word.
4. You are creating a tangible gift of your feelings that the recipient now gets to share in their heart.

How big is your heart feeling right now? Yeah, me too. Make a card, buy a card, or find one out of that big stash you already have--increase the size of your heart and someone else's too.
