To Enjoy a Very Creative Year, You First Need THIS

Creative people are often described as "free spirits," "running on inspiration," "out of the box," and maybe even flat-out "crazy."
All of those characteristics are true to some degree. However, a trait that the most creative people have (as in they are practicing creativity every day) is discipline.
Did someone hear a mic drop?
Most of us don't like to mix discipline with creativity because it takes away that "mysterious-ness" of creativity. People who think they themselves aren't creative like to believe that only a chosen few have this gift.
In fact, nobody has the excuse of not being creative. It becomes simply a choice. (Apologies for double negative--but sometimes grammar rules must be broken.)
Think of wildflower seeds. You really don't know what beauty is going to spring forth, but you do know that you need to water them regularly, make sure they are exposed to sun, and pull out any weeds that may be crowding their growth. It's a balance of structured care spurring on unknown creative beauty.
So if you want to have a more creative year in 2026, begin with a regular sprinkling of discipline. It doesn't mean you have to practice some creative expression every single day, but it does mean that you set time aside at least weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to do something creative.
Action for the week: Look at your calendar and see where you can regularly fit in some creative exercise.
Let's do this.
